現代⼈のフォルムや⾝体性をテーマに、塑造技法を起点としたFRPや⽔性樹脂による具象彫刻を制作している。
近年ではスタイリストとの協働を通じて具象彫刻の新たな可能性を探る⼀ ⽅、タイ・バンコクのプライベートミュージアムでレジデンス制作を⾏うなど活動の場を広げている。主な受賞歴に'17年「群⾺⻘年ビエンナーレ2017」奨励賞、'18年「2018年度東京造形⼤学卒業・修了作品展」 ZOKEI 賞などがある。

Gensho Sugahara

Focusing on the form and physicality of contemporary humans, he creates figurative sculptures using FRP and water-based resins, rooted in modeling techniques. In recent years, he has explored new possibilities for figurative sculpture through collaborations with stylists, while also expanding his practice through activities such as residency work at a private museum in Bangkok, Thailand. His major awards include the Encouragement Award at the “Gunma Biennale for Young Artists 2017” and the ZOKEI Award at the “Tokyo Zokei University Graduation Works Exhibition 2018.”

1993年生まれ。アニメーションに影響を受けた独自のドローイング表現を中心に、イメージによって認識、共有される世界の仕組み、またはその世界の外側にある制御不能な現象について、映像、彫刻、インストラクション、インスタレーションなどのメディアを横断し作品を制作する。

Born in 1993. Centering on a unique drawing style influenced by animation, BIEN creates works across various media - including video, sculpture, instruction, and installation - exploring the mechanisms of a world perceived and shared through images, as well as uncontrollable phenomena that exist beyond it.
